Meet Colin Sensei
4th Dan, Founder Member of
Mo-ichido England
With over five decades of dedication to martial arts, Colin J Parker is a highly respected and experienced karateka based in Surrey. Beginning his journey in Kyokushinkai Karate in 1969 under the guidance of legendary figures such as Steve Arneil and Ticky Donovan, Colin has built a rich and varied training background. His martial arts path has included extensive time in Shotokan karate, personal development through self-training, and a deep commitment to both learning and teaching across multiple styles and associations.
Throughout his career, Colin has demonstrated not only technical excellence but also leadership, having served as an instructor, coach, and referee on national and international stages. His impressive achievements include competition success across numerous championships and categories, earning national and international referee qualifications, and receiving recognition from the European Budo Council for his dedication and contribution to martial arts. He has also coached multiple national, European, and world champions in both Kata and Kumite disciplines.
Colin's passion for martial arts is matched by his dedication to community development. As a founder member of Mo-ichido England and the Director of A.C.T, he has focused on creating inclusive and empowering environments for students of all ages and backgrounds. His qualifications extend beyond traditional karate, including advanced-level training in control and restraint and delivery of female self-defence courses.
In 2020, Colin opened a purpose-built Centre of Excellence, which marked a new chapter in his lifelong mission: to grow the presence and impact of martial arts in the local community and beyond. With goals to increase membership, strengthen the association, and build a high-achieving competition squad, he continues to lead with purpose and vision. Colin is currently working toward his 5th Dan while mentoring the next generation of instructors, ensuring Mo-ichido England remains a beacon of excellence in traditional and competitive karate.
